The Inspiration Car

Inspired by John & Richard Bolster's 1929 "Bloody Mary", having watched an editorial on the car i decided it would be a nice tribute the real thing..

The Body

Welded steel space frame construction with aluminium bonnet section.

Running Gear & Engine choice

How long did it take to build?

Total build time to the point of testing took around six months.

What’s the least and most favourite part of the build?

Waiting for parts to arrive is most frustrating but really enjoyed the build process.

The Little details

Whilst not an accurate scale replica this Cyclekart pays homage to the original, many changes along the way but mainly a dynamic build with many changes during the process.

How does it drive?

Testing prior to attending my first event went really well, also the car ran really well at my first event at Stratford Racecourse in 2024, that said i decided to upgrade my carb following this meeting.

Ongoing changes and tweaks

A change of header/silencer may be on the cards for better engine breathing.
